Low vision care is an ongoing service where an eye care professional works with patients who are visually impaired over time to meet their personalized vision care needs. An initial low vision evaluation may take approximately 30-45 minutes, but additional follow-up visits of 15-20 minutes will be needed until all of your vision goals are met. An important consideration is that low vision care will not restore lost vision, but rather assist the visually impaired in maximizing their remaining field of vision. Low vision aids are special lens systems designed to magnify and/or illuminate images to help maximize a patient’s remaining field of vision. Vision aids may take the form of various optical devices, such as telescopes, high-powered spectacles, magnifiers, absorptive filters or electronic devices. Our team of professionals will work with you and your loved ones to facilitate the selection of a custom aid that will assist you in your day-to-day visual needs.

We will make every effort to accommodate patients with red eyes, painful eyes, ocular foreign bodies, sudden vision changes, sudden floaters or flashes of light. Please call our office to book an appointment as we dedicate certain appointments only for ocular emergencies.
